It's November? Where did my year go?!

On Thursday I found out that the pre-calc class that had become the bane of my existence was unnecessary. Apparently to fill the requirement I could take the second class which didn't require pre-calc. Needless to say I shot over to registration and dropped the class. $320 may have been wasted, but at least the class can attest to the uselessness of the teacher. As I was leaving the office a boy in my class turned and asked if I was still in it. I chuckled and said no. He then told me he had just dropped it as well, and was told that three people had dropped before us. What started as a class of 40 is now less than 10. True, he is very smart and a nice guy, but he just can't teach. Hopefully his class averages (and the fact that students are dropping like flies) will be enough of a hint to the chair to get rid of this guy. He's not worth the money they are probably paying him.

All my other classes are going well. Something strange happened Friday, though. I was walking to class after breakfast and as I got close to my building I hear, "Hey." I turn and see a guy from the class I was going to. I said hi back and we chatted for a bit. Nothing in particular..how is your project going? what's your major, etc. Then after class was over I was walking to the elevator and he walked up next to me. "Sorry, forgot to catch your name." I already knew his because the professor has made jokes a few times that he can't know who Steve is unless he sits in his usual spot, lol. Not that this whole thing was strange on its own, but we haven't talked all semester and now we were having conversations? Then yesterday at the library I was working on a project, listening to my ipod, and I felt a tap on my shoulder. Steve was there and we chatted for a bit until he decided he would sit at the computer next to me. I'm not sure what he did but once I was finished he packed his stuff up and walked me out.

Since it was Halloween we talked about the night's plans. I didn't have any because all my friends were occupied with other things - that meant I'd be at home doing homework. When we separated he suggested I should go out. I told him I'd try and he responded, "I hope so." Hmm...*shrugs*. Could be nothing, could be something. ;)

Finally!

It's finally mid-semester break. Amazing how time flies...soon the semester will be over! Classes are going well, other than pre-calc. I've accepted that I'll most likely fail, but it is better to fail trying than to drop out and give up. I hope things are going well for all of you out there in blogger-world. ;)

I leave you with this thought: "If you had the chance to right one wrong in your life, what would it be?"

Time goes by

Didn't realized it had been so long since my last post. I guess the heavy school schedule has really gotten to me. :)

Classes are going well, except for pre-calc. I have decided he can't teach too well because he's new, but rather he couldn't teach his way out of a paper bag. Forgive me for sounding cruel, but all the studying I do, including getting a tutor and visiting him during office hours, I can't learn anything. Many of my classmates, as well as students from his other class, are failing. He has also said (on two occasions), "Either you guys are all really stupid or I'm not teaching it right. So, maybe I need to fix my teaching because there's no way all of you could be that dumb." Wtf mate....

Otherwise things are going well. My next step, after conquering my busy schedule, will be to lose the excess weight I gained this past year from the prednisone and having to eat meals with a higher calorie content.

Beanie Success!

Well, Dotty the Dalmatian and Doby the Doberman are off to their new home. I wish their new owner the best of times with her new friends! :)

Blizzard

This is Blizzard the White Tiger. Blizzard is on The Beanie Zone for $4.80! That's 40% off from his original tag price of $7.99. He's absolutely adorable, and looking for a good home. His price is marked down because his hang tag is detached and creased. However, he's still in good condition as a whole. :)

Another one down

Thankfully this past weekend lasted three days. Unfortunately, I was chained to my desk the entire time. :P But, I got the work done that I wanted, so at least some of my goals were accomplished.

My plans for the weekend include homework, but I'm at least going to get out for a bit on Saturday. Going to go to breakfast with my aunt and go see a movie with one of my friends at night. Thank god for student discounts! :D

I finally got to meet my seminar professor, and he seems like a great guy. Though my classes demand a lot when it comes to assignments, at least I was lucky to get instructors that I like (or at least can tolerate).

Week 1 complete!!

Wow, it seems so weird writing on my blog now that a week has passed. I had no time whatsoever. I'm taking my core classes so there's a lot of homework right off the bat. I'm not complaining, I was just shocked.

Let's see, all my professors seem nice and will be fun to learn from. One was a little shocking when we first met him. We're standing outside the door waiting until it's close enough to class time so we don't look like nerds in there half an hour early, lol. Not that I care, but after walking all that way I need an excuse to just stand there and catch my breath, so I stand with the kids who think they're cool, lol. And the others are just nerds. :D

So this guy walks by us, nods his head and enter the room. I don't know why but the minute one person walks into the classroom it's like a sign for everyone else to go in as well. As if they're afraid to take the first step. Anyway, we walk in and I notice him writing on the chalkboard. He was wearing black sneakers, plaid shorts, and a black x-men/marvel comics t-shirt. We were like, "this guy's the teacher?!" lol. He later told us he thinks all the teachers should dress like the students. And he wore similar clothes thursday, so he must be serious about coming to class dressed like us. Apparently it's only his second class ever, so he's a newbie but no biggie. As long as he can teach I could care less if he showed up in a mascot uniform. Ok, maybe that would make it hard to concentrate, but still. Lol, anyone have some funny college memories that they'd like to share?
